His productions and remixes may fill the first places of A-list deejays`s playlists, Agoria has always cultivated in his mixes an eclectic approach, fully orientated towards talent scouts. Who would have dared to introduce his Cute and Cult compilation with Angelo Badalamenti, taken from David Lynch`s soundtrack for Mulholland Drive, a rock anthem of the likes of Iggy Pop´s Nightclubbing, to conclude with the ethereal version of Strings of Life signed by an almost unknown pianist like Francesco Tristano. Agoria did it.
He committed a second subsequent offence with his At The Controls compilation for Resist in 2007. Ranked on top of the end-of-the-year writer´s poll of Resident Advisor, his A.T.C. was described as “one of the finest and era-defining” compilation and “ the canon by which every other recorded mixes will have to be judged by”. In-between tracks of Bauhaus, Grand National or Murcof, Agoria highlighted a fistful of newcomers from his own label, InFiné such as Rone, Cubenx or Danton Eeprom.
Yet, whereas Agoria is working a new mixed compilation for an internationally well known series, whose name will have to be kept secret few more weeks, Agoria is launching a public take-over bid to the whole world in partnership with Soundcloud. Talent scouts, no need to be published by a label to have your tracks compiled on the next Agoria´s mix CD. Whatever might be your musical style, you can submit your tracks on the Soundcloud account of Agoria till 27th October.
The winner will have one´s track compiled and released on vinyl by InFiné in February around the compilation’s commercial launch.
