Infiné, easy music for the hard to please

Its name has been seen on a theater soundtrack, some sound installations at la Gaîté Lyrique and more recently on the latest record of… Mozart. And when it comes to live performances, Arandel is no less polymorphic. 

Knowing the project`s profound likings for the 60´s US experimental scene (Terry Riley among others), there was no doubt from the start that the live representations of “In D” would focus on a singular and moving “experience”, constantly subject to changes and a particular connection to its location and audience. 

From its refined sound-projections on the walls of La Carrière`s Workshop in 2009 to its upbeat liveset at Sonar Festival in June 2011, Arandel has been experienced live many different ways. Fredo Viola, Manvoy de Saint Sadrill, Pokett, Joseph Merrick and Mimu are only few names among many other collaborating artists on the project.

In July, Arandel was offered for the first time the opportunity to interpret “In D” live with an Italian Classical Orchestra at Dancity Festival in Italy. For its performance on Octobre 12th at Festival Electroni[K] in Rennes ( interview in French on the project ), Arandel has been collaborating with a quartet from the Orchestre National de Bretagne. At this occasion, In D arrangements have been completely reworked to include Classical instrumentation and extended to let every musician bring his own input to the project. This classical form of the project is expected to be interpreted by other orchestras in the future.

End of November, Arandel will be performing at C3 Festival in Berlin`s mythic Techno Club, Berghain and is confirmed to play for the Art Basel art show in Miami.
