pedro soler & gaspar claus - barlande
Posted 01 Sep 11
Almost two years after their first live performance for the first InFiné workshops at la Carrière, we are releasing this week "Barlande", a four-handed dialogue, which has its roots in Flamenco and some ramifications in Contemporary Classic. On one hand, a guitar & Pedro Soler, a flamenco legend, witness and guardian of the genre under its traditional form. On the other hand, a cello & Gaspar Claus, his son, involved with a wide variety of musical scenes, such as the avant-garde and improvised scenes. In two words, memory and perspective.
"Barlande" has been recorded in Brooklyn and produced by Bryce Dessner (The National, Clogs) and features the harmonium of Sufjan Stevens on Encuentro en Brooklyn. Pedro and Gaspar will be presenting Barlande live 23th September @ Café de la Danse in Paris (tickets) and soon in the rest of Europe.
