Pre-order: Rone announces new album ‘L(oo)ping’ with “Bora Vocal” live with Orchestre national de Lyon

New album out on June 16th on Vinyl, CD & digital → Stream / Pre-order

Rone’s L(oo)ping, inspired by his orchestral collaborations with the Philharmonie de Paris on 2019’s ‘Motion’, presented an obvious opportunity for the pairing of orchestral and synthesizer on his seminal breakaway hit “Bora vocal”. The 2008 cut, which features a spoken word sample by French SF writer Alain Damasio, is adorned with string synths that were easily translated to the orchestra through Romain Allender‘s arrangements. The track introduces the long-awaited project in a way that is almost born to be.

L(oo)ping is a collection of old, recent and unreleased tracks re-arranged by Romain Allender, live recorded with the Orchestra national de Lyon conducted by Dirk Brosse. This major project is the continuation of the ingenious collaboration between the electronic producer and the arranger/composer, following the success of “Motion” in 2019. Together, they created a narrative journey full of emotions, giving a new dimension to Rone’s electronic repertoire and cinematographic compositions.

But L(oo)ping is much more than an orchestral album: it was recorded during the last concerts of Rone and the ONL in Lyon by 122 microphones and a 5 sound engineers team for stereo and audio spatial formats (Dolby Atmos), mixed and post-produced in only one month, to promote immersion and transport the listener to the place of the conductor.

The album is coming out on June 16th, along with a film available soon on ARTE and two sold out shows at la Philharmonie de Paris.
